values. This position is required to work on-site 5 days a
week.What we do: The Sr. Civil Certification Engineer is essential
in supporting our engineering team. They are responsible for
developing strong certification processes and procedures while
handling civil certification projects. The Sr. Certification
Engineer will identify regulatory requirements, prepare
certification plans and compliance checklists, conform inspection
plans, and produce other certification-related documents. This
position requires close collaboration with our research and
development teams.What you can do:Support the execution of the
Civil Certification Project - identification of regulatory
requirements, development of means of compliance, certification
plans, and regulator interfaceProvide technical expertise and
mentorship to the team and/or cross-disciplinary research &
development teams working on the development & certification of the
autonomous, passenger-carrying, eVTOL aircraftBe responsible for
the certification projects, provide technical direction, and
problem-solve to assist the technical teamEnsure Hyundai UAM
Engineering projects align with regulations by preparing compliance
checklists, certification plans, inspection plans, issue paper
responses, and FAA forms, as applicableAssist in creating processes
and procedures for the Certification group to streamline their
dutiesTrain and guide junior certification engineers in all aspects
of Civil CertificationEnsure that regulatory compliance is integral
to the development processPromote awareness of the certification
process and requirements to the broader Engineering teamParticipate
in product design reviews and provide meaningful design mentorship
related to the product's test and certification planRepresent the
department in meetings with program management, senior leaders,
staff, and internal and external government representatives.Up to
10% of domestic and international travelOther duties as
assignedWhat you can contribute:Bachelor's degree in
Aerospace/Aeronautical, Mechanical, Systems, Industrial
Engineering, or other related fields required; Master's degree
preferredMinimum of five (5) years of experience in systems design,
development, safety analysis, integration, and certification (an
equivalent combination of education and experience may be
considered)Experience in 14 CFR Part 23 requirementsExperience in
requirements managementExperience with FAA personnel and
designersProficiency in FAA Type Certification, Supplemental Type
Certification, and Production Certificate processesFamiliarity with
ARP4754A and ARP4761 safety processesExcellent verbal and written
communication skillsProactive delivery of communication and
follow-upExcellent organizational skills and attention to
detailMust have the ability to independently prioritize and
accomplish work within time constraintsProficiency with Excel
VLOOKUP, pivot tables, MS Office SuiteYou may also be able to
contribute:Experience working on type certification of an aircraft
from start to finish under any of 14 CFR Part 23/25/27/33/35/36 or
other relevant regulations preferredExperience with foreign
validation of FAA Type Certificate preferredExperience with
electric propulsion air or ground vehicles preferredExperience with
14 CFR 33 & 35 preferredExperience with DO-254, DO-178, & DO-160
preferredExperience with the FAA TSO process preferredBase pay
offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related
knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus
as part of total compensation.The pay range for this position
